  1. Awesome! I will post back tomorrow after I test it out but I'm sure it will be same on the 150.
  2. Just as a follow up, I have had both the parking brake wire and bypass pin grounded for several weeks now. I have not seen any parking brake install error messages since the first couple of days that I bypassed. Just wanted to post that the "parking brake lead is incorrectly installed" message is but a distant memory and everything works perfectly (and has for weeks of daily driving). I never tried grounding the bypass only or leaving the speed sensor disconnected. I only grounded the parking brake wire and bypass pin, everything else is connected normally.
  3. Has anyone applied this yet? I'm concerned about the wording in the firmware notes. Basically saying that the iPod source will not work at all and that you must go into AppRadio mode and run the CarMediaPlayer app to play any music/video from the phone. This doesn't seem all that efficient just to play some music from your phone. The firmware delay seems awful shady to me now. Also, does this hamper the ability to watch videos? Will video apps such as YouTube or Netflix output to the nav screen? I guess I'll find out soon enough when I apply the update. Was just hoping someone already
  4. This may not be the problem (I have an iPhone 5 and bluetooth works great) but I spoke with a Pioneer technician and he informed me that the new firmware update (soon to be released) will also be updating the Bluetooth radio in the z150. Maybe they have some fixes in that as well? I can't speak to your Android device but I have had no problems with my iPhone via Bluetooth. The only hiccup was when I first paired my iPhone, for some reason it didn't fully pair as an audio device. I had to go to the (on the z150) phone source->Bluetooth settings->change and untick/retick the Bluetooth
  5. Unfortunately, the USB is the same as the SD according to the manual, 400x240 max resolution. I haven't tested USB personally though.
  6. That sucks. I was hoping you were going to say the list was out of date or something. Amazon is awesome.
  7. This is the one I have. Didn't get it from Crutchfield but it's the same interface. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120GMOSL12/Axxess-GMOS-LAN-012-GM-Factory-Integration-Adapter.html?tp=3486&awkw=36363481585&awat=pla&awnw=g&awcr=12107981665&awdv=t It is still working great after adding the Scosche converter. Perfect sound, no noises/buzzes/etc.
  8. Amazon isn't listed as an authorized dealer. Is this list not up-to-date or am I missing something? http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Where-To-Buy/Pioneer+Car+Audio+Video+Authorized+Internet+Dealers
  9. Nice. I actually haven't seen the p brake nag screen in over a week, driving every day. Hopefully it's gone.
  10. Yep but knowing our luck it will be April 30.
  11. According to an official post by Pioneer on Facebook, the z150 update is to be released "mid/late April". That's about as specific as I've found.
  12. I see, thanks for the explanation!
  13. From my experience in forums, post count does not equal knowledge. A better argument would be that you have been a member for over 6 years and are highly experienced in Pioneer units. With that said, I'll certainly take your word for it. If you say it won't work, you are probably right. So what does moving the mute wire over actually do to the head unit? Do you know, technically, what happens? Is it literally a bypass pin made specifically to bypass the parking brake or is the HU put into some type of "retail mode"? I'm just curious.
  14. 8500 has the same screen resolution as the z150, 800x480. The 8500 can decode MPEG-4 video files from the SD card at 1280x720, up to 8mbps. Granted, if I had this option, I would encode files at the native 800x480. 1280x720 is a little overkill for that screen. The "flagship" z150 can decode MPEG-4 at 400x240, up to 2.5mbps. I'm trying to figure out how, if at all, the z150 is superior to an 8500 with the add-on nav.
  15. I haven't. I tried to follow the bypass to the letter. I can definitely try this weekend, I have to get back in there anyway.
  16. Same here. Also, when the pin I moved over is not connected to ground, the bypass doesn't work at all for me. I haven't had any problem with the bypass working, it's just the nag screen that pops up every few days.
  17. I do. I installed a Metra interface that supplied a speed sensor lead for aftermarket radios. I've seen a couple other people have the same problem, with it showing up every couple of days. I don't think it's a huge deal, the bypass still works just fine. It's no more of a problem to me than the navigation "caution" nag screen.
  18. Seriously...the 8500 allows 1280x720 videos to be played from the SD card. We get 400x240. Unbelievable. And not to mention, the 8500 lets you completely control Siri from the iPhone via Bluetooth. We don't.
  19. I'm getting the "parking brake incorrectly installed" warning message once every three trips or so in the vehicle. Just hitting "ok" and it continues to work just fine, bypass still works. It's just been an annoying little nag screen.
  20. It is by far my biggest complaint. You can't even play a video that is the same resolution as the screen itself. I don't understand.
  21. I see. Hopefully that won't happen. I'll keep an eye on it.
  22. Locked out permanently? I grounded the parking brake lead as well as the newly moved mute wire. Would the bypass work for several days if it was done incorrectly? I certainly don't want my unit locking me out
  23. Ok, I didn't realize how many people had this problem but I managed to get rid of it completely. I had the high pitched noise at startup, lasted about 15 seconds or so and faded away. Every time the radio powered on, whether the vehicle was started or not. One thing I did during my troubleshooting was connect the radio directly to the battery with a speaker connected to it. It did not hum, hiss, make a high pitched noise or anything else. It was perfect. This confirmed to me that the radio itself was fine. This drove me nuts for days. In my particular situation, I had a Metra/Axxess in
  24. Anyone needing help with the high pitched noise, please see http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/36363-z150bh-high-pitched-noise-fix/ Now, back to the bypass. Has anyone else seen the "parking brake wire is incorrectly installed" message more than once since bypassing? I had not seen it for several trips...until this afternoon. It came up again. I wonder if that was just a one-time glitch or if it will show up sporadically.
  25. I believe they have a Mac version of Handbrake. It's a free program and works great, just from the short time I've used it.
