Hey Keith, I have just recently upgraded to the newest version but it was working with the old version as well. Sorry for the delay in responding I have been out of town for a few days. I hope you get yours working.

I have a 650 treo and it pairs fine. It took me about a day to get it to accept it but for the past 4 months its worked great. I have had the z1 to z2 update with the two wire bypass, my 650 is the palm version not the windows version. Lee

I also checked in the settings screen which indicates that the parking break is on, which I thought indicated that the two wire bypass is still working? I have also done a soft reset by using the pen to activate the reset.

I have a z-1 with the z2 upgrade and two wire bypass and backup camera. For the past 4 months the unit has worked perfect until the last few days I am getting this warning that the emergency brake not hooked up properly and it just keeps coming up after ending it on the screen. Some of my functions work and some have quit working, I am talking about the functions that are enabled by the two wire bypass while the car is moving. If anybody else has had this problem or knows a fix please reply to this request. Thanks in advance for your help.

Mine had a serial number on the box but the only way to be sure is to look at the serial number listed on the outside of the head unit case. This means pulling the radio out. As far as I know there is no way to pull that number up on the display screen. Sorry about having to give you bad news!!

I have been really happy with the performance of my Z1 now a Z2. It has taken me hours to figure out some of the functions but once mastered the unit has worked well. Early on I had some issues which all resulted in wiring problems but now everything is working perfect. I have not had a problem with the unit freezing up at all, my truck is black and it sits out all day in the sun. Its averaging 90 to 100 degrees here the last several weeks. I do use a sunscreen and leave the windows slightly open. The navigation system has worked great for me and most of the roads are accurate. S

Mine looked just like that and after several hours the installer located a pin in the rear view cable that goes into the back of the head unit had pushed out a little bit. He pushed the wire back in and it now works fine. He located it by having the rear view camera on and reaching behind the head unit wiggling the wires. Thats why sometimes it would work depending on the bump I would hit would cause the wire to make contact.

My point was not about getting free music, my point was there are other ways to replace your hard drive if you are not computer savy. If you understand you are over your head let others do the upgrade hard drive for you. Just pay them to do it for you. People are pulling there hard drives as we speak trying to unlock them and change the software. Some are being successful and others are not. I had no intention of suggesting that anybody do anything illegal, just stating options. Lee

There is a guy on ebay selling an upgraded 40 gig hard drives which has the Z1 to Z2 upgrade on it along with all the other upgrades and he claims he doubles the size of your music library from 10gig to 20gig.

I have a Treo 650 palm that pairs and works great with my Z1. I had no luck at transferring phone book numbers from Treo to z1. I had about 100 numbers, so I just entered them manually. I have not experienced the echo problems that others talk about. My Z1 has had the bluetooth update. I have read where a lot of people are having problems with the Treo windows versions pairing up with bluetooth. Lee

Thanks for the quick reply, I would rather pay $250 for the Z1-Z2 upgrade and not lose everything.

I have tried to read all the threads concerning the Z1 to Z2 upgrade disk but I have not read an answer to my question. I am sure someone will point out it has been already answered. If I purchase the upgrade Z1 to Z2 disk and upgrade my Z1 will I lose all my phone book contacts and cd's loaded on the hard drive? From what I have read if I try to unlock the hard drive and update I will lose everything. Lee

Now that really looks nice and I can see why the kids would love it!!
