  1. Just got done with the upgrade! The 60 gig drive arrived in just 3 days and was well packaged. I was concerned as I was out of town and it had been raining for days, however the box was in perfect condition. The drive came out easily as per Garret's instructions and was placed on the kitchen table on a clean white towel. 3 of the 4 screws came out with moderate torque and a brand new #1 phillips head, however as advertised, the 4th head stripped. The metal is very soft, I'm surprised Pioneer got them in without deforming them. A dremel tool quickly removed the head and the remaining threa
  2. Just downloaded, unzipped, and burned the update using roxio. Soooo, I have it handy. I've been driving the car all day...88 degrees, max humidity...Very unusual for this time of year in VA. Not a single glitch all day. I may just watch this thing for a few more days....Has anyone run the update without issue? Seems to me that having to baby sit the app. for an extended period of time, while ejecting and reinserting the disk is nuts. And if you did get it to go without issue how long did it take? 7 to 10 minutes???
  3. Good question! After reading all the other posts about burning issues, ie bad cd roms, compatibility issues with windows burning software, nero, boot sector id, etc. I decided to take all the variables out of the equation. I don't want to guess if it's a bad disk, bad burn, or even a corrupted download if it dosen't work. The thought of the thing having to be pulled out of the dash after it's been working so well creaps me out...I asked the tech if just the hard drive could be swapped out in the event of a non-recovery after an update and he said"no."
  4. Just got off the phone with Pioneer's z2 support. "Clark" says freeze ups are a "CPU" problem...."internal issue." (Read "it's not heat or humidity") CPU is too fast for the data bus. He also said get the update going before the freeze becomes permanent...The disk is on backorder
  5. Got back from 4 days on the road last night. My car a Porsche 1989 951 with Z2 (Late model 944T) was in the airport lot and had been for the duration of my trip. After starting up and plugging in the Ipod I drove off the lot and started out on the 2 hour drive home. I hit the voice command button and waited for bitchin betty...I thought she didn't hear me so I kept saying "destination" then I noticed the screen wasn't moving. I stopped the car and shut it off and restarted....Boot screen & music...4 more times and a soft reset...Still no luck...Oh well, restarted the car resigned to a
