  1. Ah, thanks guys .... Yeah, I can play videos, just get alittle annoyed at the warning when I start the car. Since I saw people got rid of the backup cam warning, I would think (maybe hope) that someone could rip the Video Warning for the AV inputs out?
  2. I do - and something odd tonight - I was checking it out again and now the avic sees it as an ipod and plays fine.... Even if I select Video as the input on the settings, it pops over to ipod controls (Which I dont want) - So now it seems to work and I did a iapd hack to turn off the error on the iPhone. No idea why it decided to start working, I was using the iPod cable as a video input for 2 days and BAM today, it works...
  3. Ive been using the tvout mirror from Cydia and I love it with the Avic (Slingplayer/etc...) Ive read on the forums on disabling the backup cam warning, the nav warning, etc ... but I havent seen anything about the Video Warning - Is there a way to disable it? I know its just one click, but its each time I start up
  4. Im hoping someone can shed som light on this - I have searched the forums and have seen a few posts to help, but nothing hs worked. I have been using my F90BT with an Ipod Gen5 with no problem (although losing the rt channel happens alot) - So for Christmas I got myself an iPhone 3GS and also replaced the cable on my Avic with an Apple cable. So with the stock cable I would get the accessory error and nothing worked with the Ipod integration... When I switched to the Apple cable I still get the warning that the device wasnt made for error, but it does charge the iPhone without any issue
  5. Just curious if others reported this ...
  6. I have heard that since the 3.0 update that Pac's steering wheel controls have issues?
  7. I must have missed it, it says $120 now - no $60 anywhere. Ive also called and left multiple messages but no one calls me back ... I like my radio, but Im starting to hate Pioneer. **EDIT** Duh, I didnt add to my cart, Just did and its $60... Thanks for the heads up...
  8. My Ipod has a battery that doesnt appear to hold a charge (Even though its a new battery) - so when I get in to drive to work in the morning I start with my sirius (through FM) and when the Ipod gets enough juice it take over and becomes the source - and plays all songs, which may even be a Christmas song Kind of odd in August.... Any way I can stop this?
  9. Yeah, I agree ... I think its worth a shot to try....)
  10. Cool - Thats my thought, but I wasnt sure if the DVD Drive itself was soldered to the mobo or anything like that ... I assume I can just pull one and replace it?
  11. Since my internal Amp is dead I have been considering purchasing a replacement Avic-D3 that cannot read discs (Read Errors). Can the drives be swapped from unit to another? Since my unit works fine, except for the internal mosfet, I would like to take my drive and put it in this "new" unit? I guess my main question is - Can I remove the DVD Drive easily enough? I have a pretty good electronics background (Including repairing my Video Games and Pinball Machines, component replacement/etc ...) Thanks!
  12. I know the Ipod portion is in, I guess the IP side may not be ... Of course thats harder to see. I dont have nother cable, but I can ask somone at work if they have an ipod I can test to see if its the Ipod itself.... Shouldnt be, but you never know.
  13. I finally decided to add my Ipod to my D3 and its a great add on - but I am only getting the right speaker and no left? The Ipod works fine, DVD, Radio, and the headphone input all work perfect. Anyone else seen this? Any ideas of anything I can test? I have adjusted the speakers on the Ipod Settings (on the D3) and its all good - If I select all left, I get nothing .... go to the middle I get it back.... Thanks
  14. Its connected using a wiring harness for the Vue that I purchased on the net - Nothing major, just a standard harness. I have done an AMP draw test and it doesnt show any abnormal draw (as autozone also did a test and confirmed my results). I will do another one tonight just in case. I also had the car into my Saturn dealer and they ran diags on all parts of the charging system and all came back good (Alternator/etc...)
  15. I agree HiFiSi - But I dont see where the problem can be. I have tried two batteries - Disconncted stuff, etc... I checked for AMPs being drawn and it was low - had Autozone check the system and they agreed that the system isnt drawing any extra power when idle. I love my Avic and I would hate to pull it ... (Hate even more to buy another one ...)
  16. OK - More tests over the past weeks... The factory radio back in, no power issues - The car was off for three days and no issues. Last weekend I put my Avic-D3 back in, Stop driving on Thursday at 5pm - Car cranked a SMALL amount at 7pm on Sunday and wouldnt start. This weekend (same Thursday-Sun) Kept Avic-D3 in disconnected all power to amp - Car did start, but the crank was SLOW and just made it. (warmer than week before) - So I dont think the amp is the issue. Is there a place that would repair the avic? Would an Optima Yellow D34 help at all? I know the Vues have that
  17. This is my second battery - I also thought the factory one may have been bad.
  18. Thanks again guys... I was debating pulling the stock amp since Im not using it - Im using only the new after market amp (which I have tested and no power is going to it or being used when the car is off). Now I just need to find the factory amp on my 2007 Vue....
  19. Since my D3's internal amp appears to be blown, does anyone know if there is an internal fuse for the MOSFET? I can do the repair, but with no service manual I cant tell anything... Thanks
  20. I thought that a D3 killing a battery like that was odd.... Ok, so I have to have an amp since my D3's speaker output is messed - So anyone have that URL for the place that will repair it? I know you can go Speaker -> RCA, is there a device that goes RCA -> Speaker wires? My Vue has the advanced audio, so I have the AMP in the card that came stock that should power without an issue. Ill also pull the PAC audio - that has a wire that goes to Accessory, which concerned me - Could that be drawing power causing the dead battery? Thanks for the input!
  21. So will a D3 always kill the battery in 4 days? Im for a new battery if the Kintec or Optima will do my needs...
  22. I should have mentioned more of the history : (I had the car at the dealer last week with the D3 in and they saw nothing on all diag tests - alternator/battery/charging all test good) I thought it was bad battery, so I replaced it and had the car off all Xmas week and it started right up (5 days without a start). Now, about 1 1/2 months later Im back to the 1 or 2 day no starting.... When I went on vacation in December I pulled the fuses for the radio/acc and made sure nothing powered - came back after 6 days and car wouldnt start (I must admit this was odd). Last week I pull
  23. I've have an Avic-D3 in my car for about 8 months in my brand new Vue - and since Ive had it in, my battery will die ifI dont start the car for more than a day or two. Ive tested the install and all is good - the radio turns off, I dont see a huge draw on the battery (amp check) but it kills my battery. I have the D3 on an amp since I bought it knowing the speaker hookups didnt work (seems the internal amp is dead) but the preamps work great. I also have the PAC add on to retain steering wheel control. So, two questions - any idea on the battery? Could it be the PAC? or a bad radi
  24. Thanks guys - someone on the forum had a sealed original for $25 (incl shipping) So I did that.... Thanks for the offer though.
  25. I got the reverse thing all set - Had to reset the 3D calibation stuff from the last car it was in. Still, I would like the VSS anyway
