I was messing around with that, but didn't notice any difference. Does it only work with the illumination hooked up? I don't recall for sure but I THINK it works without the illumincation wire hooked up - as long as you set a daytime brightness and a nighttime brightness in the settings. No, it does not work when the illumination wires not hooked up.

I live in Northern VA. Tomorrow Ill try entering a route to Duck, NC and see what kind of results I get. They maybe different, who knows. Ive already tried entering many different routes (philly, va beach, etc.) and they all seem to be pretty much the same as google maps. No 100 mile detour. Maybe the nav doesnt like remote locations? For example, if youre in any city within 10 miles of a major highway, and set a destination to any other city within 10-20 miles of a major highway, it should take the same route as googlemaps. I got my avic-d3 installed and bypassed today by Circuit City, but the illumination doesnt work. I told the guy he had to hook up an orange wire (I dont really know the details of how to install it properly), he said he did. But he clearly didnt as theres no response when I turn my lights on or when I hit daytime/nighttime mode. He said I could take it back tomorrow if I had any problems. What should I tell him? I figure I have to give him instructions on how to do it because he doesnt know. Also my car is a 07 Ford Mustang. Which wire on the headlight switch is he supposed to tap the oran

silly noob question im sure. but If i get my d3 installed by circuit city, and i want to do the bypass myself, are the wires visible under where the steering wheel is? or do i have to take the entire system out of the dash? if i have to take the system out of the dash, how do i go about doing that? is it simple? i have a 2007 ford mustang and the d3 will be installed with the kit so it fits properly. any help? also will circuit city properly hook up my illumination wire and speed sensor?
