  3. Thanks, but there are no attachments...Please try again...
  4. Ok, last night I hooked up the VSS and metered the illumination spot in the convenience center...How convenient...Thanks Shotgun! How much more accurate is the navigation when VSS is hooked up? Do you recommend the bypass ISO? Is the two-wire bypass easy to complete? Are there any problems (glitches) after bypassing the Z2? Man, I really appreicate everyone's help...
  5. I used the Metra VT-GMRC-01 GM Class II Data bus Interface provided by Crutchfield. There are no wires on the stock truck harness. On the Metra, there is no illumination and vss feed...just the Z2, but! where do I hook them?
  6. Come on, please help...I don't have any grapic progrms. Thanks!
  7. Correct. I tried dimming with a multi meter and the voltage dropped. I would like to contact it to a wire that is always 12 volts when the light is on regardless of dimmer setting. Does anyone have any other ideas? You mentioned some spot on the convenience control modules below the dash...

    AV Screen

Is it possible to hide or delete the sirius radio icon on the AV Screen? I would love to have that screen custom...just the items I have hooked up.
  9. Why is it not safe to connect to this wire (brown/white at the light switch)? It shows 12 volts when lights are on and 0 volts when lights are turned off...Are diesel crew cabs different?
  10. What is the best way to tap into that wire?
  11. OK, I can't get those to show anything on the meter...However, I did test the brown/white wire behind the headlight switch and boom...12 volts when I turn the light on and 0 when off. Would this be ok to tap? I thought I tried this one with no luck...but! maybe I didn't get a good connection.
  12. Thanks! So I am not looking for a wire...I am just looking for a pin to plug the ill wire from Z2 into...I will check with multimeter today...
  13. So I looked...It is a verticle socket: ------------ | X X | | X X | | LL X | ------------ I do not have a wire in the lower left (LL).
  14. I am not that great with graphics...Would someone make a background for my Diesel Silverado Crew Cab 2006? Thanks!
  15. I am not that great with graphics...can someone make a background for my Diesel Silverado Crew Cab? Thanks!
  16. Any ideas that are inside the dash for the illumination wire?
  17. Don't want to ask a dumb question, but the parking light? You mean the little orange light below the big bright white light on the front of the vehicle? That is where I need to connect? Thanks!
  18. I have installed the AVIC Z2 into my truck. The only wires I have left to connect are the illumination signal source and vehicle speed sensor (VSS). I did manage the reverse signal. I have a 2006 Chevy 2500 HD diesel with Allison transmission (crew cab). I have tried the illumination wire behind the light switch (brown/white wire and purple wire) with no luck. I have also tried the VSS wire behind the instrument cluster green/white wire with no luck. Any help on wire location would be appreciated. BTW, my Z2 did not start-up beyond the splash screen for the first time
  19. I bought the GEX-P920XM tuner for the Z2 radio...Where should I connect the yellow (fuse holder) and black wires??? Can I connect them to the radio harness (yellow and black by splicing)?
  20. My power voltage on the sytem check screen shows 14-14.1 volts. Shouldn't it show 12 volts? I have a 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Diesel. I suspect the two batteries may be causing this reading. The Z2 works perfectly fine; however, I am concerned since all of the screen shots online show 12 volts. Please advise...
  21. What about the illumination wire? Right now, the radio does not darken with headlights on...Any hints for my specific truck?
  22. Thanks for you help, as I appreciate the fast response. One other question...is it okay to run the xm and gps antenna leads together through the headliner (as opposed to separating them because of interference)?
  23. Thanks Shotgun-- Is the instrument cluster located under the steering wheel? There is a box with 5 plugs in the front and one purple plug in the back. Can you provide more specific details on location. By the way, that box with 5 plugs shows J2, J3, J4, etc. What about BCM location?
  24. By the way, I did manage to find the emergency brake wire (blue). I am new here, so please bare with me. Thanks for your input.
