  1. Hello Guys, I got an F970BT that came with a Fiat Stilo I got recently. Unfortunely, unplugging the car battery asked me for password, no one knows it. So I have past 2 hours and finally got the testmode for Android AVICs. testmode_a.rar 141bytes 0 downloads Extract Testmode_a.key to an empty, formatted usb (fat32). While the unit is ON, pop in the stick in USB1. The unit will auto reboot, into test mode. Perform Initialize To Factory Defaults. The screen will go blue, then reboot. No more Password. Tested OK on F970BT.
  2. I am busy with several projects and working with the AVIC-Z150BH and AVIC-X850BT units and every time I switch units in the same vehicle, i.e. remove power, I go through the task of resetting all my presets on AM, FM, and SiriusXM (special HD1-4 stations on the Z150BH), et al, and want to know if anyone is backing these up through Service Mode (a.k.a. test mode). I'm guessing all the WinCE based units are fairly similar. Any help or information is appreciated. Thanks.
  3. AVIC NEX 5000 Restore?

So I just bought the NEX 5000 pioneer from a trusted local pawn and I was crazy excited to put it in but it seems to have a password lock. Pioneer is not open yet here in my time zone but it seems to be an 80 dollar fix? I'm going to see if they can tell me if its stolen but the pawn shop lady told me I could return if it can't be fixed. Anyway to get it into like a system restore mode? I've heard test mode works as well but only ones I see are for other models. Any help would be appreciated!
  4. my pioneer avic f900bt is having some issues, the system hangs on "system startup in progress, please wait" with the nav, phone and AV source displayed in the background then 5 mins later restarts, then the same thing happens again and again and again, anyway you get my point. The menu options are available and seem to work i.e I can play music by clicking the AV option. I've tried downloading the test mode files but they aren't recognized, I think the SD card slot isn't being picked up, I've also gone into the service menu by holding down all the buttons, and updating the unit from there but I can't, is there any way to use the USB to do this?? or any other ideas, please, please help me, i feckin need music.....
  5. So I've done A LOT of research on here trying to figure out if others are having this same problem and although I see some similarities with the z150 and others, I'm not sure that the fixes are the same. This error code came on out of nowhere. I never tried to hack it, or update anything! I just turned the car on one day and my radio hasn't worked since. I believe that the files are corrupt though I'm not sure how that could happen. I've tried unplugging the battery, I also downloaded the Test mode thing and loaded it onto my SD card but when i popped it in, the radio did not go into test mode. With all this said, can someone PLEASE guide me through this step by step and include any downloads/links that I might need? I would REALLY appreciate the help!
  6. Hi All, My first post to the forums ! I had a look around first, it's very cool to see an entire site dedicated to the AVIC line. My issue: I recently had a bypassed AVIC-Z150BH installed in my Xterra. My installer noticed that the Pioneer screensaver was coming on continually after a few minutes of inactivity. Since there is no mention of a screensaver in the manual nor online, I'm assuming it has something to do with the bypass putting the system into "test Mode"? Similar to the demo mode that would display their revolving ads on display units. Since there are tons of videos and tutorials on how to bypass the unit, and there is no mention of others having the same problem, I'm wondering if the bypass was done in correctly, or if this is normal? Thanks for your time !

  8. Ok guys so im having the same problem with my Avic F900BT where it continously restarts. I read many posts about downloading test files and then uploading them into a sd card to the unit but the links to Megaupload are broken to the fact that the site has been shut down by the United States Govt. My question is does anyone have the latest test mode files they can send me or direct me to a thread where the problem can be fixed? Im getting pretty annoyed that I cant enjoy my unit without shutting off on me. also is test mode and service mode the same thing? I have been hearing both and am not sure if its 2 diff things. And in test mode it should let you delete gpspara0.bin, gpspara1.bin, gpspara2.bin and gpspara3.bin right? or is there another way to do it
