  1. NEX Rebooting

I have an interesting phenomena that occurs with my AVH-W4500NEX. When connected wireless, running CarPlay, and with Waze and a streaming audio such as Pandora or Spotify active, the unit will crash and reboot. Oddly, it does this in only at one particular intersection along my commute route (that I have so far discovered). The audio stream will begin to break up, the map will stop updating and then the Pioneer unit will crash and reboot. Most times, my iPhone SE will reconnect but not always. This happens in the same location regardless of which direction I am traveling. I plan to play around a bit with shutting off one of the apps and see if things still progress in the same manner over the next few days. I also plan to reach out to the local Waze map editors to see if there is anything unusual about that area. Since it only happens there, seems reasonable to presume it has something to do with Waze as it typically occurs right around the same time it is giving me route guidance. The unit runs flawlessly when connected via USB. Also, the unit is factory with regard to firmware and has an iDatalink Rr unit connected for steering wheel controls. I thought I'd throw this out to the community to see if there are any ideas/insights on this issue. Seems really strange. Thanks in advance for any helpful advice. Charlie
  2. Discontinuance of Waze in AppRadio Mode March 11, 2019 (follow link for details) https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/NEX/Discontinuance+of+Waze+in+AppRadio+Mode
  3. Waze not available on AppRadioMode and Weblink form end of March 2019 Waze will not be available anymore on App Radio Mode (ARM) and ABALTA WebLink from the end of March 2019. Q. Will WAZE icon be removed from the display of AppRadio Mode? A. Yes, it will. Please refer to "Display Image (AppRadio) below for detail. However,if there is the icon as History on the Home screen (incl. the tab that a customer can call from the button for smartphone connect at the left bottom on the Home screen), it still remains after the update. When it is pressed, we assume that it causes black screen since Waze would not be compatible with ARM anymore. This remained icon can be removed when a smartphone with different OS from previous connection is connected. (ex. iOS Device -> Android Device / Android Device -> iOS Device...) Q. Aren't there any agreement with Waze for maintenance servece or advance notice? A. We don't have any agreement with Waze. Based on mutual trust, we've developed the functions. Q. If a customer would not update Waze app, would it be possible to keep using it? A. We are planning to update the server which AppRadioMode Launcher and WebLink Host App connect to, about compatible apps, at the timing of Waze update, so customers will not be able to use Waze app after the server update even if they would not update Waze to the latest version. Q. Are there any other map applications (ex. Google MAP/IGO, etc.) that would be compatible with? A. We are negotiating with Sygic (charged navi app) but we haven't concluded yet on certain condition because they requested us about development cost and exclusive promotion (need cost). Q.What kind of apps/services will be available on WebLink? A. For 19 models, we are planning as below: Yelp, Zomato, YouTube, Media Player, Video Player *We are developing "Amazon Alexa App (tent. Name)" for UC models. Q. What do you meen "Waze will not be available on ARM and WebLink from the end of March?" A. Waze informed us that some code in the app for ARM and WebLink will be deleted on and after the end of March, so, unfortunately, we assumed that customers (even current ARM users) would not be able to use Waze on the head units after that timing.
  4. I just got the 3600BHS and I cannot figure out how to use the Hdradio or play music while using waze or some other navi app on app radio. Can you even do that?
  5. I have a 5000NEX unit, I got the adapter in, the vga to lightning as well, connect everything, now, there's one app that works fine, I tested the save on gas app and it works OK, the app sucks, but it works, but whenever I open up waze, it tells me that I need to open up an app that's appradio compatible. Anyone know how to get waze to work on AppRadio mode? Thanks.
  6. Just did a quick test after installing iOS 8 on iPhone 5
  7. I just finished updating my avid z140bh firmware to 4.6. The vga adapter (apple) is connected to both the vga cable and the lightning/usb cable. My iPhone 5 is connected via lightning connector to the vga adapter. When I try to view videos or use app radio apps like waze and carbrowser app the appradio screen on the z140bh is black but I can hear audio via car speakers. Bluetooth is working fine as well. The setting on the z10bh are as follows. App connection: iPhone, iPod connection settings: vga Can someone help me get video and appradio apps to display correctly?
  8. Hello All I recently learned about the AppRadio 2. I have a Droid 3 android phone (Verizon, US). I am looking into this phone primarily to use google maps on the bigger screen. The droid3 is not listed as a compatible phone, but it does have HDMI out. Google navigation is not listed as a compatible app, but WAZE is. http://avic411.com/i...__fromsearch__1 1) My phone is not listed as compatible. Do you think that will cause any problems? Are any of you sucessfully using unsupported phones? 2) I tried WAZE a while back, and did not like it. What are your feeling on WAZE when used through the AppRadio? Are there any other Nav apps that work that people like? 3) I have tried using google navigation at home to my TV via HDMI. It works. Can the AppRadio be used as an HDMI monitor? 4) The unit has its own GPS antaenna. How does that connect to the phone? Is it via bluetooth? How well does it work? I am super psyched about the phone, but I am afraid that it will be a huge letdown. Any feedback from android owners would be majorly appreciated. Thanks. -K
