GPS antenna...I need one.. any generics?

Recommended Posts

So I'm installing a z1 into my new car, a Lexus IS300, and I'm already having to shell out a hundred bucks for the TYTO-01 factory amp interface. So now I'm being really cheap.

Are there any alternatives to paying 60 bucks for the pioneer antenna? Ive found a couple "universal" ones online, but I'm not sure what type of connector it uses.

What are my options??

c'mon hyperite....

no shit...

I know I'm new to the forum, but seriously, was that helpful at all?

Any idiot on earth realizes it comes with an antenna.

I had it installed in a previous car, and its ziptied throughout the cars wiring to the rear roof.

Rather than spending 2 hours taking all the panels/center console out, and cutting zip ties, I left the antenna in the old car.

I wish I would have, but didn't.

Does anyone know what type of connector is on the end of the antenna?

How would I know you're removing it from one car and putting it in another? How would I know you even have the unit already? How would I know you have to leave the antenna behind? You'd be surprised at the number of morons we have come through here, and on a first post, I'll assume the same from you. Any 8/13 channel antenna with a single post round GT5 connector will work, which is most of the auto generics. The carrozzaria linked above will work fine.

The guy that stole my Avic has one WITHOUT an antenna.

I'm sure he'd come to a forum such as this and ask excactly what you're asking in his first post.

Ouch PASSAT... low blow...

I had my first avic installed in a car by Best Buy, they had it wired to the parking brake, which was a complete pain int he ass.

I was on http://my.is (a lexus owners page) tryign to find a way to bypass this feature... It referred me to this board...

However, you accusing/joking with me reminds me of another question..

Is there any way to put a security code ont his, so mine can't be stolen?

Thanks for yoru help, I was only being a dick because I thought you were intentionally being a smartass :-) I apologize.
