IPOD Classic video out firmware success!! UPDATED**

Recommended Posts

I just successfully downgraded from 1.0.3 to 1.0.2 on my 160 Classic.

Video now works on the HU screen with one downfall....after the movie starts, you have to unplug and plug in the cable. Anyone know a way around this??

***note: when restoring IPOD firmware to 1.0.2 I got an error about not being able to find the firmware. You must put the ipod in 'disk mode' first if this happens to you. this can be done through itunes, or on the device....reset the pod, and at the apple splashscreen, hold center and play, this puts it in disk mode. DO THIS WITH THE CABLE UNPLUGGED, THEN PLUG IN AFTER IN DISK MODE.

Hope this helps someone.

can i downgrade my ipod from 1.0.3 to 1.0.2 if my ipod came with 1.0.3?

I have the same question. It seems if you have not upgraded before then there is no iPod update folder(according to the downgrade instructions on searching for the update folder or file extension) to put the 1.0.2 update in once downloaded. I wonder if I create a new folder and call it the iPod Update folder (Mac system) if iTunes will recognize it!

Has anyone been successful getting video to work on avic-d3 with the 1.0.3 iPod firmware? I have tried many combinations of turning things on and off and unplugging the cable...etc...etc.

off iPod topic: discovered this the other night thanks to a persistent friend. The A/V front input jack, if you use a cable other then Pioneers av cable, is wired backwards. If you use an off brand cable (make sure it has three rings for a/v use on the input end) the video cable from your source should plug into the red audio cable for video. Your audio from your source will plug into the white rca and the yellow rca from the cable going into the D3.

Works fantastic! We hooked up a video camera, a digital camera as well as video out from my cellphone.
