Pioneer CES 2008Welcome to CES 2008

A moment like this only comes once a year.

It’s January 7, 2008 -- opening day for the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). For us here at Pioneer, it’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for.

This year we have filled our exhibit with our newest products and we’ve even given attendees the rare opportunity to get a sneak peak of the new technologies our engineers are working on.

Project KURO

After years of highly classified development, Pioneer used this year’s CES as the platform to unveil the future of television displays – black and thin. Two advanced concept televisions challenge the contrast ratio debate and profile limitations.

The Extreme Contrast Concept television does what was previously thought of as impossible by eliminating virtually all idle luminance. The result is the world’s first television with absolute black and the most accurate color and detail.

At only 9mm thin and 41 lbs, the Advanced Design Concept flat-panel display seems to float the characteristic lifelike picture of a KURO display on the wall like a canvas.

New Hybrid NavigationNavigation evolved

This 2008 CES will be remembered as the year Pioneer debuted the hybrid navigation system. The AVIC-F500BT is the revolutionary navigation unit that offers the power and features of an in-dash navigation system in the convenience of a portable device -- stated simply, it's the best of both worlds.

Shifting Gears

Also introduced today was a fleet of Pioneer car CD players that do much more than just play CDs. With 12 decks to choose from, these players serve as an in-car entertainment hub for your iPod® player*, Bluetooth® cell phone**, USB memory drives***, and satellite radio****, and now HD radio with an optional GEX-P10HD tuner (sold separately).

To see all 12 CD players, learn more about hybrid navigation, discover Project KURO and all of our other new products visit www.pioneerelectronics.com as the show goes on.
