kinger402
I just took my Avic-D1 out of my 02' Explorer. And I just picked up an 05' Nissan Pathfinder. I would like to install the navi in this car. However, the new car has the Bose system with Flip down screen for back seats and a oem dvd player in the center console. Is it possible when installing my Avic-D1 to be able to wire in the OEM rear seat screen and OEM dvd player? Thank you!
HiFiSi
I'm sure you could wire it in VIA the composite AV input. But you won't be able to control them from the D1.
kinger402
Are you sure there are just composites coming off the OEM flip down screen. And in the back of the OEM DVD player? I think it would be a wiring harness. But I havnt taken a look yet
HiFiSi
The DVD player should probably have an AV output if the LCD has an AV input. Split it so it goes to the rear screen as well as the D1's AV inputs. That's about all I can tell you, not being able to see what you're actually talking about. kinger402
I took a look at the connections in the back of the DVD player. And there are no RCA or standard A/V type plugs. It looks like a "factory" wire harness. I am wondering if anyone has done an install where I can "tap" into these wires to retain the use of the rear seat dvd
HiFiSi
It has to have some kind of AV output going in to that rear DVD screen right? How does it connect to that?
cantos
I am in the same boat, but I have a Avic-D3 in a '05 Pathfinder with the bose and factory dvd entertainment system. Anyone have any input about how to get this to work? I could care less about the DVD player in the console, but I would like to use the rear flip down screen with the D3.
