Everything I read says Z1.

I am looking for what needs to be done to do this on a new Z2. I am assuming they have hacks for both not needing the parking brake and being able to use it while moving.

Hack for Z2 is the same as the Z1. It's called the "two wire" bypass. I've done it personally - it works. Instructions here:

Additionally, depending on your unit, the Z2 *might* need a simple software update. The CD image and instructions are located in the thread entitled AVIC-Z2 Pre/Post-June Bypass Files.

Is the freeze update the same as the update you stating, I have done this one and would like to do the 2 wire bypass.

I *believe* the freezing update includes the files from the bypass update (cumulative). However, I haven't read anything specifically stating that, and when I did it I used the Z2 image with came with the bypass update already applied.

 

So, when in doubt, do the bypass update first (if it will let you) then do the freezing update.
