Hdd Screw Size?

Recommended Posts

Most of us reuse the screws on the hard drive tray. You need the T-8 torx screwdriver to get them out, but that's a lot easier than dremeling them and replacing. If you do absolutely need to buy new ones, the threads are standard for 2.5" hard drives, 6-32, with a flush head. Length would probably be 3mm.

I was trying to keep my entire original Hdd & tray intact and install a new Hdd & tray complete.

Just trying to do all my reasearch while waiting for hdd & tray to arrive.

Did more research looks like these are M3x.5x3.5 and not 6-32. I know they are flat heads, do they fit into a counter sink and need a tapered bottom or just thin flat heads.
