whtcrxghst
Did you double check that the power, ground, and P-bus are all securely connected?
HiFiSi
Also, the IP-BUS cables are directional, but have the same connectors on each side. You could have hooked up the cable backwards.
blue350Z
all the connections are tight.. an what part is directional? from the D2 to the ipod connector or from the cd changer to the ipod? both are connected to the yellow 12V power and the cd changer has power, and it kicks on and shuffles but its like the d2 isnt reconiving it.. is there maybe a setting i need to turn on to get it to switch from the ipod to the changer? im so tired and i can no longer feel my hands..i just want it all to work..lol.. thank again guys.. mike
HiFiSi
The IP-BUS cable. It's the cable that transmits data between the units. Not the power/ground wires. The IP-BUS cables plug in in the ports shown on the unit below. The IP-BUS cables have a blue and a black end. The IP-BUS ports are color coded. Also, try hooking them up the other way (the CD changer first, then to the ipod unit)
whtcrxghst
CD changer has to go last because there is only one P-bus hookup on changers
HiFiSi
Well then disregard that last statement I made. But still, check to make sure the cables are going in the right direction.
installermarc
The blue end of the cable goes to the source, and the black to the device being controlled. So, from the D2, blue goes to the back of the radio, black to the iPod adaptor. The blue from the iPod adaptor to black of the changer. If it still does not recognize the changer, the changer may be defective. Try plugging the changer directly into the back of the radio (no iPod adaptor) and see what works. (I know, more work). If it still does not work, I belive the changer may be bad. Now for your airbag light. You must have turned the key on with the airbag light disconnected or the passenger seat out. No big deal if you did, most if not all shops have made this mistake with Nissan. Heck, I've done it more times than I can count. (sometimes, you have to) To correct this, you need a buddy with a scan tool that reads airbag codes. (I have a Snap-on Ethos, most of your auto zone $50 scan tools won't clear airbag codes) If you don't have a friend with one, once you have your changer issue resolved, you may need to take the car to your dealer. If you do, be honest with the service department about what happened. They will most likely charge a standard fee (maybe $60 or so) and they should clear the code for you. Hope this all helps. cntrylvr79
No need to go to the dealer to have the code reset. Let me see if I can find the reset procedure. Found it. http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... san+airbag
