MisFit
you can plug it in to the phono jack on the front of the unit and control it through the zune itself. no on screen controls
HiFiSi
Or you can plug it into the AV input on the back, put the zune in your glove box, and use a remote control for the zune. You can't control the zune from the touchscreen like you can with the ipod. It's just not possible. http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic. ... light=zune
mrgoodbar67
hay hifisi, ive seen that avic d3 and zune video on youtube and it looks pretty sweet. you mention i can put the zune in the glove and still control it with the remote......... is that possible? wont the glove door be in the way if the ir signal? HiFiSi
Is the remote control IR or is it wireless? If it's IR, nevermind. If it's wireless, you're good.
mrgoodbar67
i thought ir and wireless were the same..... well the remote is wireless meaning just like a TV
HiFiSi
If it's an infrared (IR) wireless remote, it needs a line of sight to the zune, so you can't put it in the glove box and have it work. If it's a radio frequency (RF) wireless remote, it will work through a plastic glove box door with no problems at all.
ThisIsTakeSome
i have my zune hooked in the av inputs, it works fine. but i was wondering, i dont think it would work, but is there any chance you could cut the ipod connect cable, and attatch a zune cable to it? im tempted to try, but im an idiot, so who knows? MisFit
that will absolutely not work
HiFiSi
The interface/software on the zune is completely different than the ipod. The D3 wouldn't know how to work with it.
