Empty V
Hey everyone, I just installed a new sub amp and a new 4 channel amp for my doors. I rerouted my RCA's going to my amps away from any power cables but I'm still getting a little engine noise coming through the speakers. I disconnected them to troubleshoot and found that the noise is coming through those wires. Does anyone have any advice to eliminate this problem? Are there any really good filters out there that don't screw with the sound of the deck? Or is there any type of aftermarket shielding I can wrap around the RCA's? Thanks! HiFiSi
Ground the rca cables at the head unit end. Just wrap a continuous piece of bare wire around the exposed metal ends of the connectors, and ground both ends of it.
Empty V
I thought about that, we should have tried it. If that doesn't work will a ground loop isolator help? Thanks.
HiFiSi
It will, but they degrade sound quality a good deal, even the best of them. Also, make sure all your grounda and power connections are good and solid.

Also, make sure all your grounda and power connections are good and solid. Ahh that's what I've heard. So I'm guessing it's not worth even trying them out. Thanks for the help.
