geeoff
i'm new to this site and just installed a Z1 in my GLI. I'm sure it's on the forum somewhere, but I cant find it...how do you change that pioneer startup screen to a custom one? i know how to change the AV and VAVI backgrounds but can't figure out how to do the splash screen. Any ideas where I could find the info?
whtcrxghst
That was an added feature to the Z2 I believe
geeoff
so that means I'd have to do the Z2 image upgrade?
whtcrxghst
Ummm, if you want to change your splash screen
geeoff
ummm, maybe you shouldn't be such a s.a. I just want to know if there is ANY other way to get it done without messing with the HDD.
inferno999
I just want to know if there is ANY other way to get it done without messing with the HDD. If I remember correctly, on the Z1, the image is stored on the flash memory in the unit itself, not the HDD. Same for the Z2 actually, except the functionality to upload a new one to the firmware from disc or HDD has been added. Even if it was just on the HDD, you'd still need to unlock it, so at that point there's nothing to stop you from upgrading to a Z2.
geeoff
thanks
jbell73
No, actually I believe the image is on the HD. People upgraded their Z1's prior to the Z2 release. However this still requires removing, and unlocking your HDD. Easier to go all the way and upgrade to a Z2, where you get much better mapping system. -Jeff
