fredo2121
hi, i have a d1 which i bought about six months ago and i got an ipod adapter from ebay that was a refurbished model. i just got arount to installing the damn thing brcause my truck was parked for a while. so i go to install the unit and everything is great until i tried to power up the ipod adpater. i ran the 12v constant and the ground right from the same wires as the head unit and tried to hook up the ipod unit but it just keeps blowing the 2amo fuses it came with and i have used about 4 more i got from the auto parts store and same result. does anyone know if i could use a larger amp fuse or maybe the adapter is bad being refurbished and all, i think i am out of luck witht the seller from eby because its been so long. any input would be highly appreciated. GnatGoSplat
Could it be a short in the wiring? Try unplugging the adapter and see if it still blows the fuse. If not, then it's definitely the adapter. The iPod adapter doesn't even consume anywhere near 2A so even if a bigger fuse works, there's still something wrong with it. jimmy303
Most likely, someone reversed polarity on the iPod adapter at one point, the unit is probably DOA, now.
