clittle760
12V is 12V, no matter how you slice it.
silver
The worst that can happen is that you'll blow the car fuse for the radio circuit, so don't worry too much, but make sure you have a spare fuse ;-b
peste19
thanks and is it true that it has to have constant power to it? by this i mean for example i take turn off my car my radio doesnt turn on and on the installation diagram say it requires to have always power. Thanks in advance
silver
You harness should have 2 power wires. One that is always on (so you don't have to reset the clock on the radio everytime you pull the key out, and one that is controled with the key. The bluetooth module requires that you use the lead that is always powered according to the manual.
installermarc
Don't worry about the amount of power in the factory harness. In my '01 Mustang Bullitt, I have a D3, with the bluetooth module, XM tuner, Sirius tuner, and a 12 disc CD changer all connected to the 12 volt memory wire (yellow in the harness) and have had no issues. Nice thing about Pioneer IP-Bus stuff (all the stuff above and others that plug in to the bus shystem) is that they only pull power when they are being used. The rest of the time it is just for the memory of the device and the current is so small, you would not notice it, unless you didn't start your car for about 6 months. So go ahead and wire away!
