outatime Posted April 30, 2008 Report Share Posted April 30, 2008 Hello all Please forgive my newbieness, I have been reading all the threads on this forum about upgrading the Z1 maps but it looks a little beyond me so I took a look on ebay and noticed a few people selling replacement HD's with the upgrade maps and claims to turn a Z1 to a Z3. If I paid $140 for a new HD from one of these sellers is it really a simple HD swap and I have an updated system? Just wasn't sure if it was really that simple? bdmpastx Posted April 30, 2008 Report Share Posted April 30, 2008 Yes it is really that simple but some people are not doing the complete Z3 update as far as updating all of the files. They are just moving the map portions. So it all depends on who you get it from. It is best to have an actual image copy of the HDD. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I got mine from http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZfran37623 it has all the right version numbers of the software and hardware...updated maps, software, bluetooth, etc. the Image should be up here within 24 hours though, but his hard drive works perfectly fine in my z2.
