blown383
How much smaller is the screen compared to the Z3? -B
vastmax
Same here. Another thing I forgot to mention is that you can also now dial those POI that you find in the search if your bluetooth is sync'd up like the Z series does. Little button appears at the bottom of the screen to dial I just discovered that feature like 3 months ago on my Z2 and it is so helpful!! Good to know it's still there. northern_dog
What are the advantages to waiting for the best of the F - series vs. buying a Z3 ??
mrgoodbar67
about $1000 less, alll the traffic updates, gas prices, etc...builtin bluetooth phone capabilities an i dont know what else. but 1k less for something better is the hook for me. so its 1.15 in less, so it has no dual zone......oh well. buy a 1/2 din and hook it up to your rear monitor and done. whtcrxghst
Z-series: bigger, almost 7 inch screen no nav disks 10 gigs of music storage dual zone stubborn voice command for everything sluggish ipod control without video support pioneer bluetooth 2-volt preouts F-series: smaller, 5.8" screen but higher resolution than Z no nav disks built-in parrot bluetooth (works better with most phones than pioneer) voice recognition for ipod and bluetooth nice ipod interface that transfers video divx and mp3 dvd supported (only on 900 and 90 models) 2-volt preouts on 700 and 900, 4-volt on 90 Seems there are still plenty of people that will want the Z for the big screen, dual-zone, and music storage. I however am not one of them...would rather have good bluetooth and my ipod for music storage at a lower cost
afareca
Also, you can buy a 16Gig SD card for about $150 (or 8gig for $60 aprox) and have 6 gigs more of anything you want to store, music, videos etc than the Z and it will still be a lot cheaper.
whtcrxghst
Ya, good point. You can also store video on the SD card, whereas you can't put video on the Z HD. Will be even better when the 32 gig SD cards come down in price more Also, you can buy a 16Gig SD card for about $150 (or 8gig for $60 aprox) and have 6 gigs more of anything you want to store, music, videos etc than the Z and it will still be a lot cheaper. WaveyKat
i wonder if the Navigation will work better than the D3 i hope the F series wont take you 50 miles out of your way like the d3 does!
kruff10
WELL I LIKE THE NAVIGATION ON THE D 3, I DRIVE FOR A LIVING AND I USE A GARMIN AT MY JOB , WHEN I GO TO DOVER AFB FROM ARLINGTON VA IT ADDS A WHOLE HOUR ON THE TRIP VERSUS GOING MY OWN WAY AND I TAKE THE HOUR OFF. northern_dog
OK, the best of the F series looks like it might be better for me than the Z3. Any opinions on the F series vs. the Kenwood 8120?
tfede
Well, i got installed my F900BT yesterday and i have to say i am very disappointed. 1. The power on time takes in total about 2 minutes (toooooo long!) 2. Voice commands are not present and no mention about them in the instruction manual 3. I connected both an ipod touch and an iphone and the unit is not able to play videos by both of them (the video menus are not displayed at all). 4. BlueTooth handsfree calls with both Iphone and Nokia N73 is working great, address book import from the N73 slow but successful, no way to import the iphone one. 5. Navigation is anyway good as well as music from ipod/iphone, usb and SD. 6. Playing with the ipod command caused 3 times a unit reset (this is really bad!). Sofware revision is 1.0000, i hope there will be soon a new revision on the Pioneer website. I live in Italy and the car integration had been done on a Jeep grand cherokee by a specialist. Maybe the Euro version is different from the USA version ? Federico
