D1 and ipod adapter.

Recommended Posts

hi i just got my d1 installed on my 1997 expedition and got the ipod adapter all hooked up and running, apparantly it was just a pair of bad fuses because i bought new ones threw one in and everyhting works fine. the only down side is that i have nearly 15 gigs of music on my ipod with hundreds of albums and getting the middle like the albums that starts with the letter R is task and takes forever. does anyone know if the new generation ipod adapter solves this issue or maybe a software update will do it, any input would be highly appreciated.

No, there is nothing you can do short of replacing the D1.
The D1 is the problem, unfortunately.

Ipod2Car is the only faster alternative I know of that still lets you control the iPod from the D1. It's faster, but still takes a long time because if you want to go to the 51st album, you have to push the onscreen button (or joystick) 51 times. It does allow browsing without interrupting song play and will display full titles. Other drawbacks is it does NOT work with XM and it also comes up in an "off" state (have to press SRC every time you start the car to start the iPod).
