ND-BT1 + iPhone no sound on calls

Recommended Posts

I apologize if this has been asked before I did try quite a bit of searching with no results.

iPhone pairs with the HU and autoconnects everytime I enter the car. I can dial numbers and make phone calls and it shows up on the phone with audio source Pioneer HDD Navi as the audio source. No one can hear me and no sound comes from the speakers.

This is on an Avic-Z2 that is 2 wire bypassed and I installed it myself so assume I screwed something up :( Thanks in advance!

I will double check the mic plug but I fairly distinctly remember plugging it into the mic in port. I do not get voice guidance while driving, but I haven't tested this thoroughly(only set a destination once). I will check this stuff out and get back with you tonight thank you for the ideas.

Sounds to me like you plugged the mic into the external speaker connection (which is close to the mic connection).

That means you wouldn't get voice guidance, because it's being routing to the external speaker, and obviously the mic isn't working.

Depending on what vehicle your Z2 is installed in, I would probably pull it out to double check that unless it's a huge pain.

When something is connected to the external speaker plug voice guidance and phone conversations are routed through that connection. Since you've got a mic plugged into it, the audio is being sent to that plug, but there isn't a speaker connected to it.

Your problem is with the factory amp in your car. What interface did you use?

Voice guidance and BT audio is played through the fronts only, and mutes the rears. In your car you have a digital amp, meaning it only has left and right, no seperate front or rear wires. Hook up front channel to the rears in the harness, and you should be set. If you look close, the vehicles wire harness has no front speaker wires.

Sorry I haven't updated this thread. I haven't had a chance to pull my radio out and look things over again as I've been pretty busy.

My iPhone isn't jailbroken or anything yet.

I used a harness from a local stereo shop but it does use the factory amp and has a remote wire for it. I did however rule out the mic being plugged in wrong because the nav can understand voice commands.

Once I get a free night to pull it out I will try moving the wires to the rears and see how that works. I'll update when i know more thanks again for all your help guys.
