Kurai Posted August 16, 2006 Report Share Posted August 16, 2006 Ok i got my Z1 installed like 3 weeks ago (03 Corolla S) and am still figuring stuff out like my microphone won't work :x Gonna take it to the installer to look at one of these days i don't wanna have my car, but i have other questions like what is this ducati flasher thing? It is to watch dvds while rolling right? How do i get one and how do i install it....oh and i have DRL if that matters since i have seen it mentioned quite a bit. Also is there a certain size the pics you upload have to be i plan on dl some to a disc tonight to upload into the Z1 but is there a certain size they hafta be or nething like that? It is very dangerous and if you read some of the posts in this forum, actions like this is what makes Pioneer further lock the newer Z1s. If you are comfortable installing car stereo equipment, you will need to locate some wires and install the unit most likely behind your HU. The DRL will not effect the DB circuit. No i don't plan on watching movies and drive but my passenger may want to, and if they are supposed to be locked for safety then why are so many ppl unlocking them? Everything you have access to at that point, you will have access to at any time moving or not. When you disengage the parking brake you will see what get's "locked out". My circuit will remove the lockouts (so to speak). Actually all it does is tell the Z1 that you flashed the lights when you start the car. This opens a back door that pioneer put in to allow this. Or you can install something that will do this for you automatically. Messing with the nav system is pretty bad as well. Music is not as "interactive" as the nav and not as visually distracting as the movie playing. Anyway, unlocking things makes the units more like forign nav systems which have the disclaimer and then full access to the nav system. I actually thought that if I could have created something that would have unlocked the nav and not the DVD, I probalby would have done it, just for safety reasons. But pioneer put in the bypass, I/we are just taking advantage of it. I'm hoping that everyone is buying these (or manually flashing the lights) so they can use the nav features... or better yet their passenger uses the nav feature while they are moving.
