Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD bypass unit

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I've searched this here and on another forum already. What exactly do i need to do the bypass. I've seen things like the DEI528T, TR-7, and just wiring diagrams. so what exactly do i need because i just got this installed at a local shop yesterday and the guy that installed it said it was grounded to work while i'm driving but it doesn't. it doesn't even play a dvd at all. when i put in the dvd, the audio would work but no video on the display.i'm going back to the shop tomorrow so can anyone help me out. thanks in advance

I used this switch

http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062540&cp=&pg=4&searchSort=TRUE&sr=1&y=6&retainProdsInSession=1&origkw=switches&x=13&kw=switches&s=A-StorePrice-RSK&parentPage=search

And it only works if I keep my finger on the button so it's down. The switch doesn't click. Would a cheap toggle type of on/off swtich work?

I'm going to try to just ground the wires(I've read so much online for diff ways) and if that works, I don't need the switch...but if not...would a toggle or a switch that actually clicks work?

The one I have just pushes in and doesn't click into a position.
