lev3161
I installed a D3 for a customer a while ago. They also have a D1 in another car. The customer inserted the D1 disc into the D3 and now the D3 says disc error even when the correct disc is in. Anyone heard of a boneheaded mistake like this and is there a solution? Thanks
Phlame217
Probably downloaded the wrong firmware or something and is having an identidy crisis. Just do the Nav reset by turning the car on and pressing the reset button with a pen.
lev3161
I appreciate the help. Unfortunately that is not it. The unit won't read DVDs or CDs now either. I think the D1 disk messed up the laser pickup. Thanks anyway.
GnatGoSplat
A disc isn't going to mess up the laser diode. If it somehow messed up the firmware, you can go into test mode and force a firmware rewrite with the correct D3 disc. I forget the exact menu option, "Force System Program" sounds about right. I don't know the exact code to get into test mode, but I'm sure it's been posted before.
