jkw2068
So I decided I would begin the journy of bypassing my unit. The first and only task I have done was the e-brake thingy while I tried to find more time. Earlier today I popped in a DVD and to my suprize, I am now able to watch DVDs on my unit while rolling. How could this be? I mean, with out all the other stuff to bypass. It does seem that after 10MPH though, some features do get disable such as my phone options and address stuff, but not the playing DVD. Why is this? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Hyperite
try reading ANY of the bypass threads. that's called "motion lockouts".

But I do not understand why I can STILL watch DVDs blazing down the road at 75MPH.
CatchMeIfYouCan631
cuz only doing the parking brake wire makes the unit think that the brake is up, so it will unlock the features. as soon as u start moving tho the unit will know and lock you out. but the ability to still watch movies while it locks u out is beyond me. if you move the mute wire to the new location and ground that then the unit wont know when youre moving or still and youll be able to do anything while moving
jkw2068
Thanks CatchMeIfYouCan631. I bought the truck used with the unit in. With out tearing the dash apart and the unit, there is no telling what has been done to it. So we'll need to take a looksee. Take care
jkw2068
Just completed the bypass and cleaned up behind the dash. Everything seems to be hunkyfory now. Great instruction. Thanks to all who contributed.
