Head Unit
With all the existing bugs this might be the wrong time to bring this up, but it seems to me the control knob should be knurled. (Little dents around for grip) It would be much easier to use. Am I missing something?
HiFiSi
And I'd like the unit to be purple with yellow polka-dots instead of black. Doesn't matter. It is how Pioneer made it... it's not like you can send it back and ask them to put a different knob on it.
Head Unit
Colors wouldn't make the unit more user friendly. This would. Most primary knobs are designed this way for a good reason. Just wondering. Industrial design
HiFiSi
I understand, but what I'm getting as is that there are different ways to make things... and this is how they made it. You could say... wouldn't feature X better if they had made it like this rather than like that? but in the end it's a rhetorical question because it's not going to change. You can't send the unit back to Pioneer and ask them to put a different kind of knob on it because you don't like the one it has. It's like buying a car and complaining that you don't like the design of the steering wheel. If you don't like it, you're gonna have to change it yourself, and if you can't you'll just have to get used to it or buy a different car.
Head Unit
I basically agree with you. Just bringing it up because hopefully we have Pioneer's ear. Maybe for the next gen, they'll bless buyers with a better control knob. If ya keep quiet, don't expect things to improve.

You will have to remember that you may find a perfect unit,no flaws at all.I guarantee you, there will be at least 10 people that will pick it apart finding flaws.Who will Pioneer listen to in that case?To me the knob you mention is a very minor issue,to you it may be major.I have no problem about your issues but I'm sure Pioneer has a lot more problematic fixes than a slippery knob.
