michaela
Hey I had a Z2 stolen and I just got a new one and I had the XM, iPod, backup cam and bluetooth installed as well as an amp. Some of the wires were cut some were just unplugged. A guy at an audio install shop told me that if they cut the wires so the add ons like the iPod adapter, I would need to buy an all new iPod adapter, and a new plug couldnt just be crimped of soldered on. Any truth to that? Any advice?
coolusrname
I would contact pioneer with exactly what plugs were cut. I could see if its a main plug on the adapter, ie one that doesnt unplug, but ones that would say plug into the adapter, then into the unit could be replaced. good luck
GnatGoSplat
I'm not sure I understand, but wiring is wiring, you could crimp or solder on pretty much anything. If it's a cut IP Bus cable, the cable will need to be replaced, but it just plugs right in on both ends and the XM or iPod adapter should come with a new one.
michaela
thanks for the info. I ended up getting it installed and had to replace the IP bus cable and the RCA cables from the amp. When they stole the original unit they took the two RCA harnesses that hook up speakers and subs and then the one that controls the backup cam, so I had to order new harnesses today from pioneer and had to replace the PAC for the onstar because they took that too for some reason. Oh well, they didnt take the ipod and xm adapters OR the ipod in the glove box and the laptop in the back seat haha. Thanks for the advice though!
