Wizzard005
ok I searched and didn't find what i was looking for. I have my pioneer cable and my 5th gen ipod. I see it playing, however there is no sound.. I see album art and everything and all my play lists like on my D3, but no audio.. What am i missing here?
HiFiSi
You have to go into the settings menu and turn the AV1 input to IPOD. That makes the unit look to the AV1 input for the audio and video signal when IPOD is the selected source instead of when AV1 is the selected source.
Wizzard005
does it matter what version of firware i iphone or ipod runs? I will try to switch it to av1 to ipod, i tired that but i didn't get sound, maybe i gotta reset the radio....

Wizzard005
just to confirm i am using the Pioneer USB Cable with the ipod adapter...
Wizzard005
also, why does the ipod cable have av cables on it also? yellow/red/white.... what do they go too?
HiFiSi
They go to the AV inputs on the back of the radio. If those aren't hooked up there will be no sound or video. The audio and video signals are not sent over the USB connection, that is just for controlling and charging the ipod.

99silverbullet
i'm having the same problem but everything is hooked up and wired correctly. Also I have a burned CD and no sound comes out, does show its playing. Any suggestions?
HiFiSi
Sounds like you have something hooked up incorrectly as far as sending the sound to your speakers. Are you using a factory or aftermarket amplifier?
99silverbullet
yep but have no problems getting am/fm radio...so what else could it be?
HiFiSi
That is because you used the wrong wire as your amp turn on signal. You used the blue antenna wire (which only sends power out when the AM/FM radio is the selected source) instead of the blue system remote wire (which sends out power all the time the unit is powered on). This basically causes the amplifier only to turn on when the AM/FM radio is the selected source. To fix that without pulling the unit out to switch the wires, go into the AV settings menu, and turn the ANT CTRL setting from RADIO to POWER.
99silverbullet
man if you are right..definetly owe you a few beers gonna go pull the radio out now and see if that wire isn't connect, thanks!
