Tiesto
Just received my 700BT, and i want to buy a set of component speakers. I am going to use the 700BT's internal amp of 22 watts x 4 What ohm speakers do i need to get? 2 ohm or 4 ohm? Would either one work fine?
HiFiSi
You want to get 4 ohm speakers. But I've got to warn you that unless you get a rather low end component speaker it's not going to sound that good at all because the internal amplifier would be seriously underpowering them. Try to find a set that's rated for under 50W RMS.
Tiesto
ya i was looking at component sets that were in the 60 RMS range, only because eventually i will get an aftermarket external amp for them... i just cant afford the amp right now. The components will still sound better than stock speakers, even being underpowered correct? I actually figured out that my car (pontiac GTO) has a factory amp in the trunk, idk what its rms rating is, but i think i might be alright with that. but with this factory amp, i should still get 4 ohm speakers? HiFiSi
You would have to find out what that amp is putting out, some run at 4, some run at 2... also, is that amp even running the stereo speakers, or is it running a factory installed subwoofer?
