Sorry boss, ain't gonna work. With the d3 u need one of the bus adapters and even then it will only work with flash drives up to 2gb I believe, at least thats what worked when I tried it out with my d3 when I had one, it was kind of cool, but for only being able to read 2 gb I didn't feel it was worth the price and returned it. HiFiSi
A quick search would have given you about 15 topics telling you that exact same thing. But here's one that goes into depth about it: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5015&highlight=usb+hard+drive
diemaster
what about replacing the DVD drive w/ a hardrive? like if it's a IDE interface unplug it inside and replace it w/ a HDD. we could go one forther and add a HDD to the "bus" inside.
HiFiSi
The chances of the unit recognizing the hard drive and actually being able to use any of the data on it is not worth not being able to use the navigation ever again.
