zmeister22
Hello everyone. It started as a small crack under the pause/play button on the iPod screen, but it has spread and the touch panel no longer works. I ordered a new one from pioneer ($46, surprisingly) and it will ship at the end of the month. How difficult is it to replace the panel? The LCD is working just fine, I only need to replace the very top layer of the panel. Thanks for all of the advice. I would like to take it to a service center, but I'm super short on the dinero. HiFiSi
Shouldn't be very hard to do. Just take your time and be careful when disassembling the unit.
zmeister22
Does anyone know if the touch panel is soldered at all to the LCD? If not, I could do it myself. Pioneer wants a minimum of $200, but it could go much higher. $200 is the flat rate for any type of repair, so parts will be extra.
zmeister22
So, I just found a new one and installed it today. I'll just sell the other one on Ebay.
