braddman
Well I purchased my old AVIC Z2 from an internet store on EBAY and it wasn't supposed to have a warranty, but guess what. IT DID. The only thing Pioneer goes by is the serial number, and that tells them when it was manufactured. They repaired mine for free.
BuckyThreadkiller
If you really need service from Pioneer. Just use excel to create a decent looking invoice stating the authorized dealer's name, address, phone, etc. and along with its store logo to make it look legit. Chances are the guy receiving your repair unit will just glance over the invoice and accept the repair. I highly doubt they will check the invoice for authenticity. I've done this several times with other companies before. Is it unethical? Not really, I paid the item and supported the company already. Not really unethical? You should educate yourself on the legal definition of "fraud." It's more than unethical, it's illegal.
