F700BT ALL OPTIONS GREY EXCEPT AM/FM HELP

Recommended Posts

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME OUT HERE? I JUST GOT A NEW UNIT AND TRIED TO INSTALL IT. WHEN I CLICK ON AV SORCE THE ONLY ICONS THAT ARE IN COLOR ARE THE FM & AM ICONS EVERYTHING ELSE IS GREY. :?: I GROUNDED THE BRAKE WIRE(LIGHT GREEN WIRE) AND STILL NOTHING BUT I WOULDNT THINK YOU WOULD NEED THE BRAKE ON TO LISTEN TO A CD. I DID NOT CONNECT THE GPS ANTENNA OR THE MICROPHONE OR REVERSE WIRE YET I WAS JUST TESTING THE UNIT AND TRYING TO PLAY A CD. ALSO IT WONT ACCEPT A CD WHEN I TRY TO PUT ONE IN IT SEEMS LIKE THE PLAYER IS OUT OF PLACE INSIDE THE UNIT KIND OF LIKE IF THERE WAS ALREADY A CD IN THERE. SHOULD I RETURN THE UNIT OR AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG? :|

K, please try to refrain from using caps, that signifies shouting on a forum.

Do you have XM, Sirius, HD Radio, an SD card with music, a USB drive with music, or an iPod? Because if not the sources you don't have hooked up will be grayed out and the bypass has nothing to do with that. If the unit isn't accepting a CD, try to press eject and see if a CD comes out, otherwise it's a faulty drive.

Also you only did half of the bypass. Check the Bypass thread in the Hacks mods section to see how to do the rest of it.

If however, you would like the Color pictures from the AV source, you need to download the Testmode.zip, go into the windows mode, copy the Image.res file from the APL directory onto your SD card, transfer it to your computer, use 7zip to extract the files, go into the AV folder, and overwrite the grayed out pictures with the color ones. Then compress it again with 7zip, rename it image.res, and go back into windows mode to overwrite the unit's original Image file wit the new one.

I tried hooking up a Zune on the USB Port and nothing. I pressed eject and I can here the mechanism working but nothing comes out. Do you normally have to go through this when you first install this unit or is mine defective? If its grey then its not working so why would the CD be gray is it not reading the CD drive? Sorry for all the questions but im trying to get the most info possible so I can try to fix the problem or contact the company I bought it from to let them know my device is faulty. Thanks for the help.

No it wont let me put one in it seems that its in the position as if there was a cd in there. When I try to put one in I practly have to force it in and it goes in at an angle that doesnt seem normal so i dont let the cd go all the way in. plus I would have to push it all the way in it has trouble going in by itself.
