Shake N Bake
O.K. - So I installed a 700BT in a 2003 Chevy Tahoe, did the bypass everthing is working great with some sound problems. There is a hiss when changing things with the touch screen and when the door chimes (lost some of the door chimes though when using the fob to lock the car) or direction voice is sounding. It almost sounds as if when those are activated the volume is to high or something, the other thing it is doing is when the door is open and chime sounding, if I take the key out of the ignition it cracks and pops. Any help would be greatly appriciated, other than the above mentioned problems I am very happy with the unit. Thanks again in advance.
jrdiesel
Which wire harness did you use to install the stereo? I can't recall off the top of my head which is the proper harness.
Shake N Bake
I used the GMOS-01, The Tahoe has Bose but no onstar.
jrdiesel
With that harness all your door chimes should be saved. They should still come through the front drivers speaker. If the module has the speaker built into it, you may have the wrong module all together. (Maybe the GMOS-04 is correct) It isn't out of the question that the module could be bad, wouldn't be the first one for me. Check the revision number on the module, and check with the dealer and/or tech support at Metra to see if you have the latest revision. Double check your connections and double check your ground also.
jrdiesel
Without Onstar use GMRC-01 or GMRC-02. Straight from the 2009 Metra Catalog...
jrdiesel
But I still recall there being a special module for the BOSE system. Sorry if I am adding to the confusion...
Shake N Bake
Thanks for the help - I am checking with the supplier I got the units from and we are trying to work it out. I think the gmos-01 is the wrong harness and will probably have to change it to the gmos-04 harness. Thanks again everyone....
