Iphone 3g bluetooth all quality flakyness

Perhaps someone has a quick fix or can at least tell me its just me.

 

So i have a f900bt with an iphone 3g, 2.1 firmware on iphone latest 2.0 firmware and bluetooth update on avic.

 

The phone connects fine, phone book transfers fine etc.

 

The problem comes in on a call. But its good vs staticy wash out noise.

 

You fade in and out, some words are ok, others are so low you can't hear it. Almost like bad cell phone reception. I can hear them fine always but they can only hear me sometimes.

 

I do have echo cancellation turned on, perhaps that is it. The mic seems to work fine, voice reconition especially when I hit the VR button and say call the number ### #### NO problems there at all, so taht rules out mic issues I think.

 

So it seems to relate to blue tooth call specifically.

 

Any other iphone 3g owners have issues like this with the new update or old one for that matter?
