bobmalphy
I'm aware of the search button thanks in advance...the 4807 results I got didn't help. I've got an F700 and my iPod works just fine for audio, but when I switch to the video, I only get sound from the video file. A black screen appears and no video at all. This is using the Pioneer iPod cable. My question is, did my install screw something up? Namely, not connecting the yellow/video input? Also, if I get a backup camera, that won't prevent me from getting video out of my ipod correct (meaning they aren't competing for a single video input)?
04redgto
Are u saying u didn't hook up the yellow on the ipod cable? If u didn't, thats the problem! P.S. Ipod, and backup camera do NOT compete for a video input...
CitizenX
There is a very good reason there is a Yellow (video) cord on the iPod cable. Yes of course you need to hook that up, that will fix your issue. There is no conflict with back up camera, there is a separate video input for that - brown I think it is. bobmalphy
Apologies, I meant to say my installer. If I'm getting sound out of my ipod that means the stereo/red-white cables are hooked up, correct? I don't know why the installer would have not hooked up the video input. That's the only reason I can figure I have sound but not video. Thanks re: the video input for the ipod vs. the backup cam.

GQRilla
is your parking brake on or is this function bypassed? one of those needs to happen to see it.
bobmalphy
Bypassed properly. Also, it will play video from an SD Card. Does album art come over on the USB or the Video input. I'm guessing the USB somehow.

bobmalphy
not sure who you were asking skicrave... i've got a 5.5 gen ipod 30G. I do get the video tab, and the sound from the video comes through, just no video joy on the screen.
skicrave
I was asking you, since this is your thread. How many videos do you have on your iPod?
bobmalphy
Not that many. Maybe 5-6 movies, and few other things like video podcasts, TV shows, etc. In total probably less than 20 video files on there.
