chrisc2
Hey Guys, I have a Z1 and the reverse cam works perfectly when I'm backing up -- with the car in reverse but when I go to the Reverse Cam/Map mode, I get 2/3 of a black screen and 1/3 map. Does anyone know what's wrong? Thanks in advance! Chris.
offroaderf150
the camera power wire is wired to the reverse light instead of an accessory source. so the camera only turns on when you go into reverse. you need to wire it up to the accessory power that your radio gets to turn on. djmixmac
I purposely powered my rearview camera to my reverse lights. I heard of some cameras life span drastically reduce due the fact that they were always powered on while driving. I invested some $$ in a nice backup camera and I didn't want to have it die prematurely.

Cool thanks.. Is this easy to fix? I have very little knowledge about stuff like this...
offroaderf150
yeah it is easy to fix. you need to find out where the power lead to the camera is and run the new accessory wire to it. so pull out the radio, tag a wire to the red wire on the z and run it all the way to the back up camera. find where the camera's power wire is tapped into and disconnect it and connect the new wire run from the radio to the camera's power wire.
