Lhaff Posted September 16, 2006 Report Share Posted September 16, 2006 I've been lurking around these forums for some time now, and finally finding conclusive information on how to bypass the safety interlocs on the AVIC Z1 convinced me to go ahead and buy one. I especially want to send out a big thank you to ducatiboy for answering so many questions and putting out so much hard work to find the answers to so many different questions. I wanted also to mention that I took ducatiboy's instructions from [url=http://www.sminntech.com/z1flash.html]http://www.sminntech.com/z1flash.html[/url] and made a Microsoft Word document that can be printed and given to an installer as a set of instructions on how the AVIC Z1 should be installed to bypass the safety interlocks. I revised ducatiboy's instructions a bit to be more like an installation document you'd actually get with some electronic equipment. If anyone is interested, and ducatiboy has no objections, I can post the DOC, or perhaps provide it as a PDF. I see it being used by anyone, like myself, who isn't comfortable installing the Z1 themselves and is having it done by a professional installer. I'm all for a better written document. If it cuts down on the questions and helps people understand what to do, I'm all for it.
