cdg0319
Ok so I switched cars recently and have major issues with my navigation system now. I didn't connect the vss in my old car and it was perfect. Never any problem with navi. Now in my new car the gps has no idea where I am. I have restarted the system three times and no matter what the gps never asks me to select which state I am in or anything. Just automatically goes to one spot and won't change. Then I have to reset the location and within a minute I'm off in some random area. Last week the arrow was in the middle of a lake for 30 minutes. Didn't move, didn't relocate itself, nothing. It's like I get no signal or something. In my old car it would relocate itself instantly when I knew I wasn't on the right road or something. Now it doesn't change routes, or anything!! What is going on?!
CamelTowing
How many satellites are you pickin up? Did you clear out the learning status when you switched cars?
cdg0319
i cleared the learning status yes. Still didn't help at all. I'm not sure how many satellites. I checked once and i think it was only one bar. I'm not sure why this car is having a problem.
CamelTowing
One sat is not enough. Check your antenna position or try a different antenna
knight20
Check the length of the wire for the antenna as well. You could have made a kink along the wire that basically cut the antenna connection while doing the switch.
cdg0319
i took a look again. Found that I wasn't getting any bars, and I get message saying extensive vibration or something. So I'm assuming I need to remove it from the back window, check the wire, and put it somewhere more stable?
