Radio Spacing ?

Is it true if I buy f90bt from USA then I CAN'T get all the radio channels in Europe because of the radio frequency spacing ??

 

Is there anyway to fix that ?

 

PS: Is it possible to install other maps like the Middle East on US f90bt ???

Maps are possible (search the forum, there's a thread on that). FM will not work -- tuners are different...

I'm not sure where you heard that. The tuners are the same. The difference is that American stations end in odd numbers and European stations end in even numbers. I have seen some radios made for both markets that just tune to any frequency, odd or even. I would strongly suspect that in the case of the AVICs that it is just a matter of the Pioneer software. Still, no one may figure out how to change it.

US is odd, some of Europe is even, and then US tuners may (depending on the model) include MSND receivers. All of Euro-spec tuners include TMC...

I remember way back in the day, on the old Sony stereos, there was a switch on the top of the unit to switch from US (North America) to European. I think it changed to thuner to add an extra digit. eg. 100.35 or something like that.

Look at this the chips are the same so there has to be a softwer solution
