e39m5
I drive a 2008 VW GLI From what I've gathered, I need to buy (or fashion?) something that allows me to attach my F90BT to the OEM wires. Also, I think I saw that the RCA outputs should not be used. Is that correct? What do I use? Does anyone have any information on this? What can I expect when I pull out the OEM radio? Thanks, e39m5
rvega
This is what you need: http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/s ... 2R_VW.html You will also need the antenna adapter. Hope that helps!
OmegaRed1723
The complete parts list is as follows: PAC# C2R-VW (OEM Wiring Interface) PAC# SWI-PS (Steering Wheel Interface) PAC# SWI-CAN (CAN BUS Interface) Metra# 40-EU55 (Antenna Adapter) American International# VW-K1017 (Dash Installation Kit) I used all of these on my MkV GTI with zero issues. Everything is available on enfigcarstereo.com and they have extremely quick turnaround.
xtoyz
If one has a VW MKV with the multi function steering wheel, will the phone call buttons work to activate/deactivate calls as well as raise and lower the calls volume?
brianteel
http://www.connects2.com/c2search.aspx? ... &modID=780 this is what i used. i love it. one adapter plus dash kit is all you need
MGoBlueVDubDude
DO NOT consider using any other harness besides the Connects2 harness. It allows OEM-like integration, requires no programming, and is smaller and cheaper than the PAC stuff. Trust me, you will LOVE it!
brianteel
only thing you dont get is the phone button working but that is not really a big deal
hrosenberg33
+1 on the connects2. Works like an absolute charm (the one issue is that up/down seeks rather that scrolls through your presets) but otherwise you keep all your OEM functions. They also have a fascia kit that is probably the best fit for a mass marketed unit. This is what I bought and what it looks like: http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthrea ... ic-f7010bt HR
xtoyz
Looks like the crude PDF shows that the phone button does work? Thanks for the tips guys! Shawn
brianteel
http://caraudiosecurity.com that is why you need. i know they show the phone button working. there is no support from pioneer for it. you have to cut and solder connections on it unless you can find those connectors. not hard though
xtoyz
Oh, something else I just thought of! Seeing that adapter photos makes me think you can make the VW microphone work with the Pioneer unit? Can't wait to get my new TDI this weekend!!
chajjar
is your tdi coming with steering controls because mine didnt, i didnt even have the option for it. because of this i just opted for a generic $10 harness to connect power and speakers.
xtoyz
Sportswagens don't come with the MFSW, while sedans ALL come with them. You can add the MSFW to your sportswagen though. Shawn
ctsmith
I have an 06 Jetta TDI with an F700BT installed and I can offer an antenna placement suggestion. Put it behind the instrument cluster. Just above the steering column, remove the bellows by pulling the plastic trim piece at the bottom of the cluster straight out. It will uncover two T15 Torx screws. Remove them and pull the cluster straight out. The cluster plugs into a socket attached to a metal bracket. You can place your antennas on that bracket as it is steel and will hold using the magnets in the bracket. The antennas will have excellent sky exposure and work very well for me. Plus, its a very easy install. I may be able to dig up a couple diagrams if you are interested and need them. Charlie
chajjar
ah, i didnt know the sedans came with it, seems very odd to me that one would and one wouldnt since they are practically the same car
