greygabe
Does anyone know if the backup camera comes up when you shift in to revere while the system is still booting (like 4 or 5 seconds after ignition)? (first post ever hooray - installing my F900 on Friday!)
terron
yeah, but if you're too quick to reverse, it won't catch it. give the unit at least 8 seconds after the boot screen comes up before throwing it in reverse
greygabe
Well I guess my question should have been - how early can you throw it in to reverse and have the system catch it. 8 seconds isn't bad... Thanks for the reply

Thanks for the reply 8 seconds is pretty conservative. Usually, I get in the seat, turn on the ignition, put my seatbelt on, then put it in reverse. This is usually plenty of time for the camera to be ready.
djmixmac
Just for benchmarking purposes for you F-series owners The Z3 back up camera is almost instantaneous at about 2-3 seconds after startup. That means you can operate your camera without waiting and has the OEM Navi style functionality.

But once we're up - our functionality and look is better than OEM
