qwikrick
So glad to see this forum here. Need some help from the experts. Just installed the 700BT in my 08 GMC Sierra. Navi, IPOD, XM all installed in a flash but when I went to connect to the Bluetooth I had no luck. Tried every conceivable way to connect. This unit is version 2.0 and has the 330 bluetooth software that can supposedly pick up any phone. Updated phone software thru Verizon and still no dice. Any advice or guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks, Rick
ayanami22
grats on the purchase, im sure once most of the bugs are worked out the unit will be great haha til then thank god for this site i had a similar problem to yours. i had to turn on the avic and then use my phone to look for the unit and then they found each other...the unit didnt find anything until i did this via the phone gl cj
cranbers
Yeah you have to make the unit disocerable, not the phone. Same issue on my iphone. The unit will say type 1111 in your phone, you have to be paitent its not an instant process, you may be searching for say 30 seconds before it does its negotiation and disocvers the unit. qwikrick
Thanks guys. I've tried both of those methods and the unit is not picking up the phone either way. Ironically, I tried my wife's phone and not only did the unit not pick it up, my wife's phone picked up my Q which was in the house about 50 feet away. This tells me that the Q is working OK and the unit is not discovering anything. Any other thoughts out there? Could this be a wiring problem or simply a bug? Thanks again for the responses. cranbers
Bluetooth is entirely self contained within the unit itself, prior units required an external unit. So its all settings based. I would suggest turning bluetooth off on the unit, pressing the reset button near the eject and trying it again by turning it on and following the instructions in the manual again to the letter. If it still doesn't work you may need to give pioneer a call and ask them for some better troubleshooting hints. Or if all else fails an exchange.
