Does a 2002 Jetta have an ISO connection or is it quadlock?

Its becuase you have taken the factory radio out and that has the can-bus built in.

The Pioneer is getting a live feed from the yellow wire and red wire. The red wire is the ACC switch.

You need to tap into the ignition switch or the way i did it was find a pin on the VW harness that the ignition controls and use that.

The better way would be to install a can-bus adapter and this will give you switched ignition as well as speed sensor, reverse and illumniation.

Let me know what conection you have
