apathyps
Did a bit of searching, couldn't find anything that showed how to do this... I know theres a way to turn the screen off until you touch it again by going into some options, and I think i remember seeing a contrast/brightness adjustment. But I am wondering if its possible or maybe if someone has already figured out how to make the screen turn off automatically when its not in use. Sorta like the same principal with a cellphone. A little button in a settings menu to allow for this to happen would be nice, or just a script that can be added to the data.zip to let the screen automatically turn off after 30 seconds of not being used. I know this may interfere with viewing movies or having the screen turn off when you are using the map, but I think i could deal with that, just back in and press a button if it was possible to script a button into the menus that would give you this option. Sometimes that thing is so freakin bright when im driving around in the evening. Anyone with any ideas?
dumpystig
Seems that would defeat the idea of having a screen in the first place....? Go into >Settings Menu>System Settings>Picture Adjustment and turn down the screen brightness: sorted!
CamelTowing
Just holding down the map button is a shortcut to the brightness control. Doesn't seem to be what the OP is looking for though. A button on the map screen to instantly turn off the screen would be cool for driving through the ghetto though. Is that even possible?
