fordman03
Just a quick question...How big of a amp would I need to power a 8 inch or 10 inch sub???
CatchMeIfYouCan631
Too vague of a question. Subs vary from different brands, some can handle more than others. Look at the specs of the subs you're interested and match the RMS wattage.

S_Chiem424
Who is the manufacturer of your sub woofer and what is the model number? In most cases I wouldn't power an 8-10" sub with more than 250 watts of power(RMS). What I would do is google the sub woofer model number for the specs and then buy an amp that has a rating of 25-50 more watts RMS than the woofer can handle. Just make sure you don't turn the bass all the way up and you won't blow/fry anything. You should never run your amp at max RMS power consistently regardless of the fact that it's rated for that. Try to keep it down by about 10% by adjusting the bass level.
