Blackberry Curve won't connect to F90BT

Recommended Posts

for some reason the last thread got somehow lost or deleted for no reason before anyone could answer my question

my blackberry curve won't connect to the f90bt, and why is that? it is enabled in bluetooth, and set on discoverable, and im following all the guidelines in the manual.

i also tried 4 other phones, they detect each other well, but the f90bt won't detect any of them.

why? should i reinstall the 2.0 software??

it is. i had 4.5.0.55 before i updated today, and i did the newest update to 4.5.0.127 and still nothing. not only that, i know noticed that 3 other phones wont connect to it either, it just doesn't detect any phones!

also, the unit causes my escort passport 8500 radar to go off Ka band EVERY 10-15 seconds! anybody else have this problem??

Hm, let me see... I have now read this in four different threads. If you have tried 4 different phones, either your unit is defective or you are simply doing something wrong.

My wife has a Blackberry Curve that connects with my 900 almost instantly when the car starts. The battery level, signal strength and contacts are available on the 900.

I would stop bashing the AVIC's and consider troubleshooting your individual issues!

believe me, i love the avic (at least the d1). i used to only have avic's. and i was soooo happy about the f90bt, but now, my curve will never connect. im pretty sure i am doing it right, and all the settings are set right, but it won't detect.

the phones will detect each other while i was in the car, but not the unit. i am just very upset, its most certainly the individual unit i think! im gonna reapply the 2.0 firmware, and update the bluetooth software on it, and if it won't work, i will exchange the unit.

That is a great place to start... I just did a full reinstall of both yesterday and I swear in made mine run better.

DONT FORGET to follow the directions perfectly and SAVE your IGO folder before deleting the flash drive!

Let us know if this fixes your issues.

ALSO, how close is your GPS antenna to your radar detector?

well i gotta look up the directions first, and then i will follow them like a german follows commands. lol.

regarding the gps, i have it in the dash, under my steering wheel, along the left dashboard end, and place into the left bottom corner of the windshield(inside the car on the dash).

what i think it might be is....when i had the avic, i had a whole bunch of aluminum insulation tape covering the heat box (since i got a e46 bmw, i had to custom cut the heat box to make room), but i also had black guerilla duc tape covering it.

this time, i redid the heat box, but didn't put duc tape over it, and left it at the aluminum insulation tape. maybe that along w/ some magnetism in the unit could trigger the radar, i will try to cover it up w/ non metal tape.

that should work, right???
